Housing for All Legislative Breakfast Report
On Friday, February 26th, over 75 people signed on to the MICAH Housing for All Breakfast.
Roxanne Smith, founder of Housing for All at St Joseph the Worker in Maple Grove, facilitated our discussion. We were witness to powerful personal stories by Peggy Larkin and Tyra Thomas, who experienced homelessness, about the importance of funding the entire continuum to housing and creating a shelter residents bill of rights!
Senator Hoffman indicated he would be a co-author of the Lead Safe Homes Bill. Local policy makers committed to supporting equitable responses and expanding housing opportunities that are affordable.
John Duffy, Duffy Development, showed off their latest development, Bottineau 3 in Maple Grove. In a follow up to the Breakfast, Hennepin County Commissioner Anderson met with MICAH and CROSS to continue to support our work together in Hennepin County.
We have video of the online event, and you can find more details on our chapter page, including a PDF of the slide presentation.
