Dakota County Affordable Housing Coalition Meeting - December 5th
The Affordable Housing Coalition (AHC) will meet on Dec. 5th at 8:30 – 10:30 am for the combined Nov./Dec. AHC meeting due to the holidays. We will have a special topic and different location for this meeting.
Topic: Identifying Issues and Solutions to Federal Policies and Programmatic Rules that Most Impact Persons Experiencing Homelessness
Location: Dakota CDA, 1228 Town Centre Drive, Eagan (Meeting in Board room)
Date: Dec. 5th at 8:30 – 10:30 am
This topic was developed in response to recent discussions on federal programs utilized for shelter and housing programs, such as the Emergency Solution Grant Program and a timely meeting with a representative from Representative Angie Craig’s office from the 2nd Congressional District.
We will be working out details prior to the meeting but the preliminary plan is to focus discussion on identifying areas that need attention, which could include definitions, funding gaps and programmatic rules in federally funded programs such as ESG, CDBG, HOME, and others, that most impact persons who are experiencing homelessness. We also want to be able to identify potential solutions to the identified issues.
Staff from Congresswoman Angie Craig’s office will be in attendance at the meeting, so this will be a great opportunity to share information on areas that need focus to better serve people experiencing housing instability and homelessness.
