I Shall Not Rest Easy
As long as there is one homeless person
In a Bread line
I shall not rest easy
I shall not feel fine
For how can I push justice to the side
Far from it I cannot hide
As long as mothers and children are denied
Economic equality
I shall not rest easy
For injustice is all I see
How can I deny
Helping the poor
When they are living worse than me
As long as there still does exist
Police brutality
When my black, red, brown, and yellow
Sisters and Brothers
Are still not considered free
I shall not rest easy
I shall not rest easy tonight
I shall storm the heavens in prayer
Like a rocketship in flight.
I shall
I shall not rest easy tonight
