Anoka Chapter News - March 2021, Submitted by Sue Baysden
Sue Watlov Phillips presented at the Family Promise in Anoka County's Conversation with Coordinators meeting in March. She gave an overview of Homelessness - Growing for Five Decades.
There was great interest among the participants as to the root causes of homelessness and also what can be done. Participants also gained a better understanding of the issues that families, who are part of the program, are facing.
Family Promise in Anoka County is the only shelter for families experiencing homelessness in Anoka County. There are typically four families at a time in the program, with up to a 90-day stay.
While in the program they search for housing and, if necessary, work on finding employment. Family Promise in Anoka County also offers case management to families who have completed the program.
The Anoka Chapter continues to meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 6 pm, via Zoom.
