* First celebrated in 1986, World Habitat Day (the first Monday in October) was designated by the United Nations as a time to “reflect on the state of our habitats, and on the basic right of all to adequate shelter” and as a reminder “that we all have the power and the responsibility to shape the future of our cities and towns.” We will use this month to highlight and reflect on what we all can do to end homelessness.
